In the right hands flowers can have the most
amazing effect. A feeling of pure delight
can be achieved just by putting the right
combination together. It's all about having
a real passion for their raw, natural
beauty. When were working with them it's not
a job - it's an excuse to be able to be
amongst the most gorgeous blooms around. An
eye for colour and texture is essential if
you want to achieve a knockout effect
because it's all about being able to put the
right flowers together - whether it be in a
hand-tied bouquet or a wedding pedestal. We
just love everything about them, but more
than that we want to share what we see with
others because they're just too good to keep
to yourself.
We want people to feel that flowers don't
have to be just for saying happy birthday or
sorry. They should be a part of
everyone's life - we should all be in
the habit of buying them for no reason at
all. We want everyone to stop worrying that
they don't know the names of flowers or that
they haven't got the right vase at home for
them and just get into them! When you're at
that dinner party presenting a bouquet that
oozes 'eat me' is going to get you far more
brownie points than a bottle of plonk!

And they don't have to be show stopping
tropicals or armfuls of arum lilies - I get
just as much pleasure from a vase of
cornflowers or tulips. Nor do they have to
come with a huge ribbon and last for three
weeks to make them a good buy. You wouldn't
expect a chocolate cake to but that doesn't
detract from the pleasure of eating it
whilst it's fresh.
When were buying flowers and foliages our
prime concerns are the quality of stock and
getting a truly amazing range to work with.
When you have good materials so much can be
achieved. We like to get creative with them
and like to incorporate all kinds of
materials from berries and twigs to fruit
and veg! Were not trying to be wacky - we
just enjoy making every arrangement as
personal to the client as possible.
Were constantly on the lookout for new
varieties, new trends in vases, different
materials to wrap the bouquets with (ever
had a posy tied with ivy?) the list is
endless. But mostly we love sharing our
passion for flowers with others. |
